Refer-a-Colleague Terms & Conditions

The MIT Professional Education in partnership with Global Alumni Corp ("Global Alumni"), an online education provider, is developing and delivering the Global Alumni Refer-a-Friend program. By participating in and becoming a member of the Refer-a-Friend program (a "Referrer"), you are subject to Global Alumni’ Terms of Service and Privacy Policy, as well as the following additional Terms & Conditions for the Global Alumni Refer-a-Friend program:

• Qualified Referral. A Qualified Referral is defined as a purchase made on a Global Alumni course by a person (a "Referred Customer") who arrives to our website by clicking your Refer-a-Friend program link. You are limited to one Qualified Referral for each Referred Customer; in other words, additional/repeat purchases made by a Referred Customer are not counted as additional Qualified Referrals.

• Referred Customer. The Referred Customer and the Referrer cannot be the same person (for example, by using a different e-mail address).

• Referral Rewards. For you to earn referral rewards as a Referrer, the Referred Customer must purchase a course and stay enrolled through our refund period.

• Reward Payments. Rewards are payable in increments of course account credits. As a Referrer, you are responsible for any and all tax liability resulting from Referral Rewards.

• Course Account Credit Applicability. If you have already purchased a Global Alumni course prior to the Qualified Referral being made, and you and Referred Customer are taking the course at the same time, we will automatically credit your reward to you. Otherwise, your credit can be put towards any future course by MIT Professional Education in partnership with Global Alumni.

• Eligibility. Eligibility is limited to individuals only. Refer-a-Friend programs for any Global Alumni courses cannot be used by businesses for affiliate lead generation as determined in Global Alumni’ sole discretion.

• No Spam. You must comply with all current “SPAM” laws. For example, e-mails must be created and distributed in a personal manner and bulk e-mail distribution is strongly discouraged. Any distribution of your referral link that could constitute unsolicited commercial e-mail or "spam" under any applicable law or regulation is expressly prohibited and will be grounds for immediate termination of your account and exclusion from Global Alumni’ Refer-a-Friend program.

• Representations. Referrer makes the following representations:

  • Referrer will not in any way falsify, deceive, or mislead Global Alumni regarding referrals in the Refer-a-Friend program.

  • Referrer will not misrepresent Referrer’s relationship with Global Alumni.

  • Referrer will not harvest, use listed resources, or otherwise pay for leads (or personal information) for use in this Refer-a-Friend program.

  • Referrer acknowledges and understands that Global Alumni will rely upon Referrer’s compliance with these Terms & Conditions. Global Alumni reserves the right to request to see Referrer’s e-mails about this program to confirm such compliance.

• Right to Close Accounts. Global Alumni reserves the right to close the account(s) of any Referrer and/or Referred Customer and to request proper payment if the Referrer and/or Referred Customer attempts to use the Global Alumni Refer-a-Friend program in a questionable manner or breaches any of these Terms & Conditions or is in violation of any law, statute or governmental regulation.

• Right to Cancel Program or Change Terms. Global Alumni reserves the right to cancel the Refer-a-Friend Program or to change these Terms & Conditions at any time in its sole discretion. Changes will be effective immediately upon posting revisions to these Terms & Conditions. Any unclaimed referral rewards will be forfeited at the time the program is cancelled.

• Indemnification. Referrer will defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Global Alumni, its representatives, and affiliates from damages, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including attorneys' fees) resulting from any claim, judgment, or proceeding resulting from Referrer’s noncompliance with these Terms & Conditions.

• Liability. Global Alumni shall have no liability in connection with this Refer-a-Friend Program to Referrers or anyone else.
